12/01/2011 – Mini Review Star Trek 100 Spectacular

IDW released their “Star Trek 100 Page
Spectacular” and I have to ask, is it really that spectacular? The 100 pages consist of reprints of Alien Spotlight: Romulans, Alien Spotlight: Tribbles, Captain’s Log: Sulu, and Missions End #1.  None of these four wowed me the first time I read them (except maybe the Tribble story from the Tribbles point of view).

All of the issues were sold separately in multiple covers, then they have all been collected with other issues of the series in trade paperbacks, and now they are collected here in the “Spectacular”.  Unless you do not already own them all in some other format, I really cannot recommend purchasing this book. I guess $8 for 4 books that would run you maybe $3 each is a good deal, but I am betting you already have at least one of these books already. Come on, admit it…
